Digital Jammer matt catt

on stage at subterrainia London

I've been on the vibe since '85!
played at various parties,
clubs, indoor and outdoor festivals.

including....
bagleys: big-green-gathering: cool-tan: critical mass: the-drome: glastonbury-festival: global cafe: heaven: hippodrome!: id-spiral: reclaim the streets: rainbow-centre: subterrainia: viba

to name but a few and yes I am older than I look, 34 next b-day

In 1990 I had my first chance at CD mixing. Since then I've managed to blend digital and analogue sounds into chilled out and eclectically funky mixes.

From Chilled Dub & Jazzy Flavas to Funky Dance and Electronica.

I started writing my own lyrics in 1991 but didn't start performing them until 1994 ever since my style has been mixing and matching any good tunes in my collection with mc lyrics and spoof radio jock announcements. I used to try and keep up with the latest musical trends but since hearing many that I dislike, I've held back and waited until a sound got me going then search out lables or tracks of the same genre. My interest in the broader spectrum of sound meant that as a Dj I would be shunned by purists for not keeping the beat at the same bpm throughout the mix. I do beat mix and drop mix and kill bass and treble whilst i spin but not continuously as to ruin the tracks. Somewhere in the selection and the delivery is a moment not to be missed, and after all this time I still get asked back to play again. Must be doing something right.

NOW With 300w pa.

and using the vestax cd-x12 to play gigs with, it gives me 2 CD players and a mixer with 4 more inputs on one neat unit.

Available to play at your event - email me for more details.

Thanks to the web I can keep up with the latest releases and choose patiently what albums I want to buy. My own collection is made up of all type of stuff. Some is off the shelf and the rest is a combination of promos, bootlegs and bargains. Eclectic has no genrefication listing in the local store, it's a state of mind that draws on existing influences but strives to develop new sounds in the mix. Not a case of what I play but more how I play it that makes it eclectic.

you can call that sound ECLECTRO ! Eclectic Electronica for Eco-lites
